We made three postcards, one poster and one booklet to display our final virtual museum. Except introducing the musuem by three masterpieces, the related elements and special guest, we also put ourselves into a travel blogger perspective to write a review for Vend Verden.
POSTER
I am a travel blogger that loves visiting new countries and learning more about different cultures by visiting new museums. In addition to photo diaries from all of my travels, I enjoy writing reviews on the museums I visit and posting them on my blog! Here is my review on a new museum I visited on my most recent trip to Bangkok, Thailand.

I always collect brochures and booklets provided by museums, and I usually read every single word on them. And I must say that you should at least skim through every page of brochure and booklet of this museum in order to fully appreciate the museum itself and the exhibition. The tile of the current exhibition is “The Elements”, and it is so dense with ideas that you will not understand even the surface of it if you just go over the artworks. I will not state the details about the ideas behind the exhibit in this post, but you should definitely read them before you have a look at the actual exhibit.
Upon arrival at the VandVerden Museum, the image of the massive globe structure is striking and unmissable. The shape of the museum instantly reminded me of The Osaka Maritime Museum in Japan, and I later figured out from the booklet that it was actually one of the inspirations. The landscaping around the museum was beautifully unique and modern compared to surrounding landscape design in Bangkok. The globe like sphere had an absolutely stunning opalescent sheen glaring off of its triangular glass panels, and in some parts were completely transparent. This effect appears to come from some special solar charged coating that makes the glass opaque when struck by direct sunlight, almost like transition lense sunglasses--an interesting and visually beautiful choice! The entrance to the museum was illuminated by a walkway of twinkling lights that seem to signify the energy of the people filing in. I found that the little details and stylistic decisions this museum displayed added a lot of flare that worked very well in terms of the concept and aesthetic direction.

When I stepped inside, the interior was absolutely breathtaking. The ball is then in your court as you can choose what path to take in order to have a better view of the art pieces on display. A grand staircase invites your eyes to travel 360 degrees around the massive glass globe. This staircase leads the any guest to the same destination but on a different level; one is low and the other is higher. From each level you experience a different perspective on the same art. However, the staircase was not a viewer’s only option. Anyone can also observe and analyze the works of art from the outside as well. I felt that the outdoor viewing made me feel apart of the exhibit itself in comparison to how much bigger I felt taking the museum all in on an elevated platform (staircase).
Postcard
The exhibit had many spectacular works displayed that catches the eye. There lots of interesting and creative artworks that go along with the theme. The theme of elements was very inspiring. Each artwork displayed for the the specific themes was cleverly portrayed. The element of fire being displayed as a method of rebirth in creation and creating new artists and artwork was a sight to see. Using an artificial intelligence program to oppose the theme of humanity was also very innovative. Seeing the flames go through the artwork displays and portray the burning of all the paintings being shown was mesmerizing. At first I was very confused why they decided to make it look like the artworks being burned away. But after seeing that it was meant to show a rebirth, a way to inspire new artists and creators to create new masterpieces was exceptional.

The exhibit had many spectacular works displayed that catches the eye. There lots of interesting and creative artworks that go along with the theme. The theme of elemMy favourite piece of art in this curation is the “Men and Women” sculpture by Tamara Kvesitadze. When I saw this artwork for the first time at the entrance, I thought it was just two artificial intelligence robots moving together. However, I walked closer and went up the staircases to gaze at this artwork from different perspectives. I realized it told a tragic love story and I felt shocked that this way of telling the story is so vivid, impressive, and gives audiences a visual image in their heads. I recommend that all the viewers need to view the sculpture in the outdoor area, and it is hardly expressed by the vocabulary. In the special magic hour of “night time”, it shows other unique visions, different kinds of colour which are reflected by the glass panels representing different stages of encountering. The soft music and the warm sunshine over the clam water surface adds the aesthetic feeling of this artwork. This piece of art also convoys the element “love” and “human relation”.

Booklet
The prices and tickets are also reasonable and delicate. It only cost the equivalent of $18 to buy one ticket in advance online and $20 at the ticket window near the entrance. This small ticket is made up of environmental protection paper and the shape is like a hamster ball, the same as the structure of the museum. There is a QR code on the back side of the ticket and you would need to scan the QR code to enter the museum. And when you scan the QR code from the smartphone, you can get the electronic booklet and brochures.
I strongly encourage everyone to visit The VandVerden and have a look at “The Elements” exhibition. This exhibition will be held until August 31st of this year and will never be recreated again so I highly recommend planning a trip soon. Please share your experience too if you get there, whether you loved it or hated it!
